Fugitive Watch Press Release – 3 Robbers Identified

Three robbers identified, two arrested, after being featured on Fugitive Watch, two still at large

San Jose, CA Nov.12th, 2007 – Fugitive Watch is proud to announce that four recent robberies and burglaries have been solved and two suspects have been captured after being featured on Fugitive Watch. All four cases were caught on video and the videos were featured on the Fugitive Watch TV program and still photos were published the Fugitive Watch Newspaper.

Case # 1 Romaine Morgan was tracked down by Santa Clara police detectives to his hideout in south San Jose after a Fugitive Watch viewer recognized him. Police all over the south bay were plagued by a series of unsolved armed robberies of Safeway stores and Starbucks coffee shops. One of the robberies of a Santa Clara Safeway store was caught on tape and the tape was featured on Fugitive Watch. Acting on the tip, detectives attempted to arrest Morgan in south San Jose and Suspect Morgan fled, leading police on a chase. During the chase, Morgan allegedly attempted to force his way into an elderly woman’s home and carjack a citizen.

Case #2 Guadalupe Michelle Zamora was arrested in east San Jose after two Fugitive Watch viewers called in tips. San Jose police turned to Fugitive Watch for help after two unknown females were caught on tape during a robbery of an east San Jose Shop N Go Market. Fugitive Watch featured the story in their TV program and newspaper. A citizen called in after recognizing one of the females and detectives identified her as Michelle Zamora. Police obtained a warrant for Zamora’s arrest and again turned to Fugitive Watch to announce she had been identified and now had to be located and arrested. Sure enough, ano ther citizen recognized her and called in a tip. Zamora was later arrested at a home in east San Jose. Her accomplice still remains unidentified and at large.

Case #3 The robber of the Mervyn’s Department Store on Blossom Hill Road in San Jose was identified after he was caught on tape during a life and death struggle with a store loss prevention officer. A Fugitive Watch viewer recognized him and called in the tip. Police detectives are following up on the tip and expect to have a warrant issued for his arrest this week.

Fugitive Watch Television is the 15-year-old brainchild of San Jose police officers Steve Ferdin and Scott Castruita, televising pictures and descriptions of fugitives suspected to be hiding in the Bay Area. Fugitive Watch airs on Comcast cable stations at various times in 7 counties throughout the bay area. Many people refer Fugitive Watch as a bay area version of America’s Most Wanted. Fugitive Watch also publishes a newspaper and hosts a web site www.fugitive.com. Video and photos of the crime and suspects are available.
